3.v. Repairing an XFS File System
To repair an XFS file organization, utilise xfs_repair
:
#
xfs_repair /dev/device
The xfs_repair
utility is highly scalable and is designed to repair fifty-fifty very large file systems with many inodes efficiently. Unlike other Linux file systems, xfs_repair
does not run at boot time, even when an XFS file organisation was not cleanly unmounted. In the effect of an unclean unmount, xfs_repair
simply replays the log at mount fourth dimension, ensuring a consistent file system.
The xfs_repair
utility cannot repair an XFS file system with a muddied log. To clear the log, mountain and unmount the XFS file system. If the log is corrupt and cannot exist replayed, use the -50
option ("force log zeroing") to articulate the log, that is, xfs_repair -L /dev/device
. Be enlightened that this may upshot in further corruption or data loss.
For more than information about repairing an XFS file system, come across human xfs_repair
.
